Derived from the prevalence of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) amongst children in the United States, 1 in 31: Autism Today addresses hot topics affecting the autism community in the Hudson Valley and beyond. The unique interview format features host Eliza Bozenski of Anderson Center for Autism, New York’s premier autism treatment center, along with celebrity guests, professionals in the field, community partners, and more.
Bozenski serves as the Chief Development Officer and oversees the Development department. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Miami University of Ohio and her master’s degree in clinical social work from New York’s Columbia University.
The half-hour weekend program is produced by Pamal Broadcasting, LTD. 1 in 31: Autism Today continues to serve the tri-state area as a leading autism resource since its inception in 2012.

This weekend's 1 in 36 guests are Dr. Barbara Tischler Hastie, Renee Falanga-Brenner, and Jaime Churchill. Barbara is the Coordinator of School Development with Ulster BOCES. Renee is a Special Education Advocate with Resource Center for Accessible Living (RCAL), and Jaime is the Special Education Coordinator for Rondout Valley School District, and is also a board member for the Ulster County Agricultural Society (the group that runs the Ulster County Fair). They have collaborated to provide a sensory safe space at the Ulster County Fair this year. The designated room will offer families an opportunity to enjoy a sensory-friendly environment. The room will provide respite from bright lights, crowds, and the summer heat and will feature bubble tubes, mats, seating, touch and feel books about animals, a host of noise canceling headphones, and a charging station for augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices. Timothy is an internationally renowned researcher and entrepreneur, and has worked with NASA, led the team that built the first virtual reality exhibit at the Smithsonian Institution, and is a sought-after consultant and presenter on Robot-Assisted Instruction, Autism, Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Collaborative Robotics, Human Perception, and Assistive Technology. The committee formed over four years ago, when the village of Rhinebeck became an autism supportive community via training received from the Anderson Center Consulting & Training team. This weekend's 1 in 36 guests are Bill Burke & Angela Parisi. Bill is the education chairman and a volunteer at the Oyster Bay Railroad Museum. Angela is the transition supervisor for the children's day program at the Center for Developmental Disabilities located in Woodbury, NY. She oversees the vocational programming, community integration, and linkages to adult services for students aging out. The Center provides comprehensive services for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The museum and the Center have joined together to create the VIP program, a shared, informal vocational education enterprise. Their shared mission is to create a dynamic program focused on service for young adults to accomplish educational, vocational and self esteem outcomes central to all members of our community. Dr. Deborah Napolitano is an assistant professor of ABA at Daemen College. Prior to this, she was an associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. Dr. Napolitano has published widely in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and behavior analysis in some of the field’s leading journals. Her research interests are in the areas of rigid and repetitive behavior in individuals with autism, drug and behavior interactions, applications of behavior analysis in child welfare, and the assessment and treatment of severe challenging behavior of persons with IDD. She has also spent a great deal of her career advocating for the needs of individuals with IDD, their families, and for the behavior analysis profession. This weekend's 1 in 36 guest is Alex Prizgintas! Alex is a local Hudson Valley musician, author, historian, lecturer, and more. He is currently the president of the Woodbury Historical Society. Alex graduated from Marist College in 2021, his major was history with a minor in Hudson River Valley Studies and a concentration in public history. He is currently pursuing his Masters at Marist in Public Administration. Alex is passionate and well versed in many different topics ranging from milk bottle collecting, dairy farming, glass production, Orange Country railroads, and more. Alex is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, and synesthesia. He plays the cello, and is looking to reach a new goal this year - 100 bookings! Paul's co-author is Joshua Goblowsky. Josh suffered a traumatic brain injury at the age of three, but he hasn't allowed his disabilities restrain him in the least! Joseph received his BA in sociology & psychology from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. He has been in the ACI program for 6 months. Teresa is from India, and holds a Bachelor's degree in special education, and a Master's degree in Social Work. She is currently a PhD scholar at Christ University in Bengaluru, India, and she is doing her research in the field of Autism & Special Education! She has been in the program for almost 12 months!
